SAP BASIS Administrator

Duties:The SAP Basis Administrator takes responsibility of the configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of the technology stack like SAP application and underlaying database. This includes to plan and manage assigned technical projects and/or upgrades including the co-ordination of other resources required to complete these tasks; Secures operation and setup of SAP landscapes; SAP Basis and database work-load analysis & performance tuning; work together with integration teams to connect surrounding systems based on actual security standards; Maintain and setup of SAP High-Availability solutions; Database Administration (Oracle, HANA). Technical Currency : the breadth of technical knowledge across various technology programs/packages.Good understanding of several technologiesIT Role Experience : The number of working experience in the role.Up to 6 yrs Supervision : Level of Control and ResponsibilitySupervision of colleagues Routine : Repetitiveness of work packagesExplain & Guide Communication: The ability to communicate and work effectively with clients.Interactive DUTIES:Provision of SAP instances for NextGenProvision of integrations via SAP BTP ISPreparation of the system copy (backup, export, documentation and planning)Implementation of the necessary support packages, according to SAP documentationTechnical connection of the interface systems to the newly created system copiesTesting and validation of the patch installationFinal work and documentationFollow-up support (fixing or supporting the error correction that may have been caused by the new patches)If infrastructure services from surrounding teams are required, they are delivered via a central contact person.Version upgrade in S4 landscapeConnection of the necessary interfaces according to the specifications of the architecture team Key ExpectationsSAP S/4HANA Expertise: We expect proficiency in S/4HANA greenfield implementations, system conversions, and upgrades. Beyond just technical tasks, you should be able to provide best-practice guidance and strategic recommendations for these projects.-SAP BTP IS Skills: Proven experience with SAP BTP IS is essential (4-6 years). This includes experience in working with BTP Integration suite and maintaining integrations towards the backend SAP system-SAP BTP Skills: Experience with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is essential. This includes knowing how to integrate BTP with on-premise and cloud systems and effectively manage its various services to innovate and extend our existing SAP landscape.Proactive System Maintenance: You should be a master of core BASIS maintenance tasks like applying support packs and kernel upgrades. More importantly, we expect you to anticipate issues, optimize system performance, and ensure stability before problems arise.-Problem-Solving and Innovation: We need someone who can go beyond routine tasks to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose creative, efficient solutions. You should be forward-thinking and ready to help us leverage new technologies to enhance our SAP environment.Skills:Technical knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the installation, configuration and maintenance of SAP systems.Database management: Experience in working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server or HANA2.Network skills: Understanding network protocols and services to support SAP system integration.Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues.Security Management: Knowledge of implementing and managing security policies and procedures.Project management: Experience in planning and executing projects, often in collaboration with other IT teams.Communication skills: Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.Analytical skills: Strong analytical thinking to optimize and improve systemsEducation:Specific education / field of study are not relevant for this role. Further, prior experience in the energy sector is not mandatory. Practical information:The team consists of in total 5,5 FTX. There is a good atmosphere in the team with a lot of seniority. The external needs to be able to work autonomous. The team is international. On-site presence is not mandatory. The external might need to travel for on site meetings.As November/December (2026) and Januari/Februari (2027) are very important months of the project, it is not favourable that an external takes up leave during these months.
